It's never been more true than it is today. The world economy is changing. America's economy is changing. Gone are the days where a person could graduate from highschool on a Tues., secure a job at the factory on the outskirts of the town on a Wednesday, work there for 30 years and retire with an allowance and a gold watch. Those days are gone and they are not coming back.
Responding to that, people in skyrocketing numbers are striking out on their own. Trying entrepreneurship, and an extraordinary proportion of them are succeeding. They are growing beyond themselves and blazing new trails. For most what started as an economic requirement has evolved into the fantasy of growing a colourful business to be able to pass it on to their youngsters.
That sure is a good, noble goal, and I'm wishing each single person who has that need the very best of luck. I'd also urge every last one of them to pay close attention to data security.
Most people who start a business for themselves are in possession of abundant common sense and a good work ethic. They very swiftly learn the basics of what it takes to build, run, and manage the day to day operations of a tiny company. Unhappily though, many of those same people are not very technically inclined, and while they may naturally understand that to protect your info is to protect your business, comparatively few of these new entrepreneurs have any firm concepts about the best way to do that. Because of this, it's a thing quite often left to risk, and this is a mistake.
So if you are needing to grow your business to have something to pass on to your children and grand children, then I beg you to make Internet security part of your thinking. If you do not put a little thought into it ( and that would include engaging a qualified expert if you do not have the technical know-how yourself ), then it could very well be the thing that blind sides you, and rather than leaving a prospering business to the new generation, you'll leave a busted site with some smarmy hacker emblem on it, and dreams that got pulled out from under you. Don't allow that to happen to you or your dreams!
